Awakening Youth Gathered Through Social Media
Unable to meet face-to-face due to corona virus restrictions, Awakening Youth reunited online on Saturday, 27 February 2021.
The meeting, shared on YouTube, started with Romans 13: 1-14. “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not covet,' and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' Love does no harm to a neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilment of the law.”
After a time of worship, the theatre play “Trusting Jesus” was staged.
During prayer time the focus was on “Unemployment and Economic Recession,” lifting to God:
• Those who have lost their job and have trouble making a living
• Leaders of the economy to make wise and fair decisions
• The society to support more sensitively and in solidarity towards tradesmen and people in distress
• The countries in the world that have been living in poverty for years
During his message, "Reaching New Levels in the Christian Life," Istanbul Agape Church Pastor Daniel Günay shared,”When I look at young people's lives in Turkey, I can see how the Lord works in their lives, and how they grow in faith. I can see the blessings in their lives. However, this growing in faith must continue until the end of our lives.
“We have to mature more, grow more. Churches and pastors in Turkey need to be improved more. Growing in faith will not be easy, there will be difficulties. Because the devil does not want us to mature spiritually. At the same time, our thoughts, ourselves, and the world want to do everything in their power to prevent us from growing in faith. However, we should know that we are not alone in growing spiritually and serving the Lord. Jesus Christ will be with us and help us grow."
The program ended with worshiping.
